Petre Nicolescu - Club Instructors

Petre started karate in 1990 under shihan Adrian Popescu Sacele, 7th Dan, in the transylvanian city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He passed Shodan in 1995 after an exhausting six hour examination, achieving the highest score of the day. He has earned a place on the podium at several regional and national competitions, both in Romania and in the UK.

Petre joined CUKC in 2007 and was won over from the very first sessions by the excellent teaching methods, and by the enthusiasm and dedication of club's members. His main interest is kata, focused on kinematic/kinetic aspects of techniques, and he now instructs many of the Thursday kata sessions at CUKC.

Petre has a Master's degree in Computer Aided Design in Electrical Engineering and is currently working as a graphic artist in the advertising industry. As well as karate, he is passionate about photography and videography, and has on occasion been known to take photographs of karate events.
