On 6 and 7 March 2026, students from Bath, Dublin, Exeter, London and Oxford joined CUKC and representatives of the Japan University Karate Federation for a weekend of training and sightseeing in Cambridge.
Training together
Saturday focused on strong stances, power transfer and kumite movement. On Sunday, students from Japan, the UK and Ireland shared kata demonstrations representing several karate styles and trained together in mixed pairs.
The weekend embodied IUKM’s aim of building bridges through karate. CUKC thanks the visiting students and instructors, the Perse School, Cambridge Regional College, Blitz, the organising team and Sensei Ken Hori for making the event possible.
